I’m Dan, a Filipino-Spanish based in Barcelona, Spain. I’ve been living here for more than 10 years and I’ve been writing since I was 10.
I remember my first article was about students who had brought pride to our small town school after winning in History, Math, and Spelling Quiz Bees.
Today I write online articles about people who have excelled in grown-ups’ Quiz Bees, overcoming life difficulties and serving as inspiration to others.
You may see some of these articles published on news.abs-cbn.com, which are also compiled in this blog. I have some other articles published on angbagongfilipino.wordpress.com, Filipino migrant community newsletters, and various publications.
I also produce TV reports for ABS-CBN news platforms, mainly for Balitang Global, a news program for Filipinos in Europe and the Middle East (West Asia), which can also be seen worldwide through The Filipino Channel.
I write stories on the retail petroleum industry, convenience stores, and alternative energy for the website petrolplaza.com

Hi Dan,
Sad to read that the jobless rate is still so high in Spain. We will be vacationing in Barcelona with a large group of people and will be looking for 2-3 domestic helpers. Would appreciate if you could let me know how to let any Filipinos in Barcelona looking for work know of this job opportunity, so we can help each other out! Contact me at wendyou(at)gmail.com
Thanks,
Wendy
